Quite possibly the most competitively priced spread betting site out there. Holders of a Platinum account with WorldSpreads will encounter zero spreads on several of the more popular bets. They offer a huge range of markets and three different account types, tailored to meet your experience level. The Lite Platform is intuitive and beginner friendly, with the Advanced Platform being designed for the more knowledgeable trader, with a superb charting package.

They do offer free Guaranteed stops, 24 hour trading, free phone support, a demo account and excellent training and education but there is currently no Mobile trading platform available.

WorldSpreads offer more than 4000 tradable instruments to their clients, with zero spreads on several of the more popular bets and 1 point spreads on others, including FTSE, DAX, CAC and several FX Pairs such as EUR/US. Holders of a Platinum Account have access to zero spreads on the following markets: UK100, CAC, DAX, Eurostoxx, GILT, BUND, EUR/USD, EUR/GBP and USD/JPY. WorldSpreads have recently announced that clients can now spread bet on a range of sectors based on stocks in the FTSE 350 index.

There are two versions of the plaform for WorldSpreads but both are only available in HTML format. They offer the Lite Platform and the Advanced Platform. These have been specifically designed to cater for differing levels of trading experience. You can nominate one base currency for the trading platform from Euros, Pounds and Dollars.

The major differences are; the amount of financial instruments available – 76 for the Lite Platform, 4000+ for the Advanced Platform; the more advanced charting package with the Advanced Platform and; the absence of OCO, if-done and trailing stop orders on the Lite Platform. The Advanced Platform now also features free pattern recognition software from Autochartist.com which is a chart monitoring tool that alerts users to possible trading opportunities as they develop in the market.

The Active and Platinum account holders also have the availability of Trailing Stops and Renko, Kagi and 3 Line Break charts. The platform could, however, do with improving the speed of execution, although as stated it does offer free Guaranteed Stops as a form of risk management and, generally, low margins.

WorldSpreads offer video tutorials covering topics such as: Opening a trade, Closing a trade, Searching for a market , Using stop and limits on open positions,  Opening positions using stops and limits and Charting packages on offer.

WorldSpreads provides free to view webinars and seminars on a range of topics including an introduction to spread betting, understanding technical analysis, spreadbetting with a day job and more. On top of the obligatory FAQs and 'Jargon Buster', WorldSpreads also offer one-to-one spread betting tutorials held in their London offices, over the phone or via webinar. These sessions take approximately 50 minutes.
